TRLN Data Librarians Foster Collaboration through Online Group

A group of research data librarians at TRLN libraries have launched an online discussion group for librarians and library staff in North Carolina who have an interest in research data management and use. The North Carolina Data Interest Group (NCDIG) Google Group provides a forum for discussion of topics such as data management, data visualization, data analysis and computation, institutional repositories, GIS/mapping data, data literacy, and/or programming/coding.

Envisioned by Hilary Davis (NCSU), Joel Herndon (Duke), Danianne Mizzy (UNC), and David Rachlin (NCCU), the discussion group targets academic or research librarians from all subject areas or disciplines. The forum will foster interaction and collective learning, including sharing of advice, best practices, and announcements about training and events; collaborative problem-solving; and strengthening of professional relationships.
