A phase one goal for Search TRLN is to support
patron-initiated inter-institutional requesting from the Search TRLN interface.
Requests generated from the Search TRLN interface will integrate with current
ILLIAD procedures for TRLN expedited document delivery services.
Task Group Goals:
- Identify what data the Endeca system must
send, and in what format, to authorize the borrower, direct them to the
appropriate ILLIAD implementation, and generate a request in that system. The
goal is to support a request button as specified by the User Interface Task
Group, i.e., at the title rather than the holdings level. Target date for
Endeca data requirements is September 28, 2007.
- Identify the changes that need to be made to
local ILLIAD implementations to process these requests. The task group should
coordinate and communicate with the TRLN Document Delivery subcommittee as
needed. The task group will examine the workflow at each institution,
including other document delivery systems in place.
- The task group will also investigate the
ILLIAD ISO feature. The goal is to streamline this process as much as
possible, including unmediated processing wherever possible.
