Charge: Coordinates TRLN activities related to the development, communication, provision and measurement of library public services, and issues relating to reciprocal service arrangements among member libraries. Oversees the work of the Document Delivery Service Committee. Forms task or project groups as needed. The Services Council will facilitate information sharing and involvement of other library staff, virtually and in small and large group meetings. The Services Council will provide opportunities for discussion and exploration of issues relating to document delivery, reciprocal services, library instruction, automated services and other public service interests.

About the membership: The associate university librarians for public services (or their representative) from the four university libraries, a representative from a separately administered library, a representative from circulation, usability, reference and the chair of the Document Delivery Service Committee. Council members have the responsibility to communicate relevant information with staff at all of the libraries at their institution. The Services Council will be supported by a member of the central TRLN staff. Representatives from the separately administered libraries, circulation, usability and reference departments will be appointed for a two-year term.

Services Council Steering Committee: AULs (or their representative) from Duke, NCCU, NCSU and UNC will form the Steering Committee and will set the agenda for the meetings of the council and will mediate issues arising outside of regularly scheduled meetings.
