Charge: Coordinates TRLN activities related to digital library initiatives, Search TRLN, library systems, technical infrastructure, digital content management, and associated information technology issues. Oversees the maintenance and development of Search TRLN and the work of the Endeca Operations Committee, and evaluates new projects. Forms task or project groups as needed. The Technology Council will facilitate information sharing and involvement of other library and IT staff, virtually and in small and large group meetings. The Technology Council will provide opportunities for discussion and exploration of issues relating to Search TRLN, digital repositories, automated services, and other information technology interests.

About the membership: The associate university librarians (AULs) for technology (or their equivalent) from the four university libraries, a representative from a separately administered library, a representative from digital libraries, library systems, and the chair of the Endeca Operations Committee. Council members have the responsibility to communicate relevant information with staff at all of the libraries at their institution. The Technology Council will be supported by a member of the central TRLN staff. Representatives from the separately administered libraries, digital libraries and library systems will be appointed for a two-year term.

Technology Council Steering Committee: The AULs (or their equivalent) from Duke, NCCU, NCSU and UNC will form the Steering Committee and will set the agenda for the meetings of the council and will mediate issues arising outside of regularly scheduled meetings.
