Charge: Coordinates TRLN activities related to human resources, including staff development, training, and other personnel issues. Provides opportunities for discussion of issues relating to personnel, staff development and training. Oversees the Staff Development Committee and recommends the formation of task or project groups as needed.

About the membership: A representative from each of the four university libraries plus a representative from a separately administered library, personnel managers, and the chair of the Staff Development Committee. The Human Resources Council will be supported by a member of the central TRLN staff. Council members have the responsibility to communicate relevant information with staff at all of the libraries at their institution. The representative from a separately administered library and the chair of the Staff Development Committee will be appointed for a two-year term.

Human Resources Council Steering Committee: A member from Duke, NCCU, NCSU, and UNC will form the Steering Committee and will set the agenda for the meetings of the council and will mediate issues arising outside of regularly scheduled meetings.
