Final Report

The TRLN Call Number Browse and Authorities Task Group reports to the Endeca Operations Committee.

Charge: to investigate methods of supporting call number browsing and augmenting Endeca searches with results from authorized headings or authority records. Proposed solutions should not be reliant upon legacy online catalog functionality or data structures. Recommend software development projects to the Technology Council and Services Council, and develop prototypes as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate solutions under development at NCSU to support call number browse
• Investigate approaches for incorporating authorities into Endeca results lists
• Scope software development projects to implement these features

Timeline: May - August 2009
