TRLN Metadata Tools for Digital Collections Seminar

Abstract TRLN Libraries are investing significant resources in digital projects and collections. In creating these collections, we are facing challenges in finding and developing appropriate tools to manage metadata. At this seminar, each library will have a chance to discuss how they are approaching this challenge, focusing on that part of their digital collections technical infrastructure that relates to metadata creation and management. Participants will learn what tools are being used in other libraries; discuss problems encountered; and identify potential areas for collaboration in the future. This session is intended for staff members who are involved in the implementation or creation of local metadata management tools, and those involved in the design of the larger digital collections infrastructures that will support use of these tools.
