Breakout sessions:

Staff from TRLN member libraries each described a current digital project. This discussion focused on planning, funding, and administrative issues rather than on technical concerns. Each speaker examined aspects such as collections development, resource discovery, advisory boards, marketing/promotion tools, access, and users of these resources.

Issues of concern to support staff--respect, salaries, continuing education, and career advancement--are gaining wider recognition at the national level. A panel discussed national developments, then initiated a discussion on ways TRLN institutions might collaborate to address one or more of these issues.

Several TRLN libraries have recently completed or are in the midst of major renovations to their facilities. During this process, public services must be maintained, staff must be accommodated and supported, and the organization must continue to pursue its various goals. This panel session discussed strategies for maintaining service quality, the need for creative new service configurations, organizational changes prompted by facilities transitions, and staff needs and participation.
