Developing New Digital Services and Collections: The Digital Library Initiatives Department at NCSU Libraries

The Digital Library Initiatives Department creates new digital services and collections, as well as programs that integrate advanced Web-based and multimedia resources into teaching and learning at NC State. Current project and investigation areas include Web publishing, multimedia creation, image access, enhanced database access, usability, courseware integration, and digital repository development. The breakout session will highlight ongoing projects and will discuss the challenge of balancing research into new technologies with the need to focus on current service needs.
