Overdue fines:

Overdue policy: After the due date, a maximum of three overdue notices will be sent, as a courtesy reminder, to the borrower. Overdue fines have already accrued when overdue notices are sent.

Replacement policy: The replacement cost of a lost item is determined by Circulation staff, based on relevant factors (e.g., the price the Libraries paid for the book, the current cost to replace it, whether or not it is in print, etc.). Receipts are issued for all lost book fees.

Refunds on lost books: If a book that has been lost and paid for is returned to the Libraries - along with its receipt - within one year, the replacement cost of the book will be refunded. Processing fees, however, are not refunded.

Recalls and holds: All items are subject to recall for other users. Items will not be recalled from NCSU borrowers for TRLN borrowers unless no other copy of the item exists within TRLN.

Renewals: Borrowers may renew their own library materials online at http://www.lib.ncsu.edu (click on My Borrowing Record) or by automated telephone renewal at 919/515-6065 prior to their due dates.

Returning books: Items may be returned to any library on the North Carolina State University campus. Material returned after being declared lost will be assessed the maximum fine.
