Overdue fines:
Overdue policy: The library is NOT obligated to send overdue notices but does so as a reminder. When patrons receive overdue notices, materials listed on those notices are already overdue and subject to fines. Due dates are stamped on the inside of each book at checkout.
Replacement policy: Patrons are responsible for books that they have borrowed and will be fined for their loss. Books are automatically declared lost when 42 days past due.
Recalls & holds: All books are subject to recall for other users and Reserve. Reserve requests are recalled immediately.
Renewals: Books may be renewed if not on hold for another patron or for use in Reserve Collections. All UNC Libraries allow books to be renewed by phone in on the Automated phone line at 962-LIBS (962-5427).
Returning books: Books returned when the library is closed are discharged on the next business day. After hours book drops are near the exit doors (walk up) and at the east end of the library (drive up). Material returned after being declared lost will be assessed maximum fines. To avoid delinquency problems, return material to the library from which they were borrowed.
